  Field Service Technician Business Unit: Fluid Handling Crane Pumps & Systems Reports To: Quality Supervisor Department: Quality Support the repair and the improvement of existing products by building, servicing, troubleshooting, and testing pumps and or pump system components along with analyzing test results and conducting service evaluations. Responsibilities and Duties • Build, service, troubleshoot, and test pumps and /or pump system components • Test pumps and pump components in accordance with the lab schedule; this will include: • Plumb and wire pumps for testing • Operate test equipment • Tabulate/report test results • Analyze test results and service evaluations • Tears down, analyzes and rebuilds pumps for service • Communicates findings and recommendations to customers and management • Removes, installs, diagnoses, repairs, disassembles, assembles and performs failure analyses • Ensures compliance to customer specifications and company requirements Qualifications and Required Skills • Good mechanical / electrical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting skills with a familiarity of pumps and pump systems • Must be able to analyze data and write reports • Knowledge of advanced electrical wiring. • Ability to read schematics • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, excel, etc.) • Good verbal and written communications skills • Strong attention to details • Strong customer service skills • Ability to travel – up to 40% of the time • Lifting up to 25 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds about 2/3 of the time, and up to 100 pounds up to 1/3 of the time. Must reach, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and balance. These are incorporated in frequent need to lift large plumbing, parts, or pumps. Worker is assisted by cranes, hoist, or forklift for heavy or awkward loads.
