Question - I have misplaced the initial letter containing my login information. How do I recover this information?

Answer 1 - Best Option - Once you have logged in to the Parent Access site, you should click on the My Account link in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. From the My Account page you should key in your current email address.

If you forget your password, the system can be used to retrieve it by clicking the Forgot your Password? link and providing your User Name. If you forget your User Name, it can also be retrieved by clicking the Forgot your Username? link and providing your email address.

Answer 2- Send an email to gradebook@uppervalleycc.org including your son/daughter's name, your name and phone number. A letter containing the login information will be sent to the parent/guardian home address on file. Under no circumstances will Parent Access login information be provided over the phone or via email.

Question - What if we notice a grade inaccuracy?

Answer - Teachers are constantly upgrading their gradebooks, so this may be corrected almost immediately. No grade is final until the report card is printed . The grade on the report card is the grade that will be posted to the student transcript.

If, however, you notice a grading inaccuracy, please encourage your student to first speak with the teacher. If this does not resolve the issue, feel free to contact the teacher via voicemail or email regarding the problem.

Question - How frequently are grades updated on Progress Book?

Progress Book provides an instant snapshot of the grades in a teacher's gradebook . As soon as a teacher updates his/her gradebook, it is viewable online. This gradebook is DYNAMIC and constantly changing as teachers input grades. You may log in and see one average and then log back in 15 minutes later and the grade is different. This means that the teacher has updated the gradebook since you previously viewed. Teachers are required to post grades weekly to the gradebook. Upper Valley Career Center instructors are also required to have their gradebook "up-to-date" every Wednesday by midnight.

Question - Is the Parent/Student access site safe? In other words, could a student change his/her grade?

Answer - Parent/Student access is absolutely safe. You are only viewing the results of a report . People viewing reports have no ability to change data in the gradebook. Each time you view a screen, a new report is generated and displayed.

Question - What if I have problems accessing a computer from home?

Answer - If you do not have Internet access at home you can usually find it at one of the following locations:

  • Family Member
  • Friends
  • Neighbor
  • Local Library

Please be aware that the Upper Valley Career Center tech staff cannot provide support to home computers.
